Xylor: Providing Relief with Loratadine COMPOSITION

 Each XYLOR TABLETS  contains Loratadine USP

 Xylor syrup contains 5mg of Loratadine USP per 5ml

DESCRIPTION

Xylor offers both tablets and syrup to address allergic reactions effectively The key component, Loratadine, is a longacting, nonsedating antihistamine

ACTIONS

Loratadine is a potent longacting tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral H1receptor antagonistic activity

INDICATIONS AND USAGE

Xylor products are designed for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis This includes sneezing, nasal discharge, itching, and ocular symptoms It is also effective for the relief of symptoms and signs of chronic urticaria and other allergic dermatologic disorders

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

 For adults and children 12 years of age and over, one Xylor 10mg tablet or two teaspoonsful of
Xylor syrup (10 mg) is recommended once daily

 For children aged 2 to 12, the dosage depends on body weight: 10 mg (two teaspoonsful) for those over 30 kg and 5 mg (one teaspoonful) for those under 30 kg, once daily, or as directed by the physician

DRUG INTERACTION 

Xylor products do not potentiate the effects of alcohol based on psychomotor performance studies

DRUG  LABORATORY TEST INTERACTIONS

Xylor products should be discontinued approximately 48 hours before skin testing procedures to avoid interference with dermal reactivity indicators

ADVERSE REACTIONS

In clinical studies, the incidence of adverse effects associated with XYLOR TABLETS was similar to that of placebo, showing no clinically significant sedative or anticholinergic properties Fatigue, sedation, and headache were rarely reported events The Xylor syrup had a comparable incidence of adverse effects to the placebo, with treatmentrelated headache, sedation, and nervousness being rarely reported, similar to placebo

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Patients with hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to any of the components of Xylor products should not take them.

PRECAUTIONS:

Start patients with severe liver impairment on a lower initial dose. For them, 5 mg once daily or 10 mg every other day is recommended.

• Pregnant women should not use Xylor products unless the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
• Taking loratadine while breastfeeding can pass the medication into breast milk, posing a potential risk to infants, especially newborns and premature babies.
