Composition:

• TERBIDERM cream
• Terbiderm Forte Tablets
• Each tablet contains Terbinafine 250mg (as Terbinafine HCI BP)

Properties:

•  Broadspectrum antifungal activity
•  Fungicidal and fungistatic effects
•  Targets dermatophytes, molds, and dimorphic fungi
•  Interferes with fungal sterol biosynthesis
•  Inhibits squalene epoxidase in fungal cell membrane
•  Concentrates in skin, hair, and nails

Pharmacokinetics:

•  Peak plasma concentrations achieved within 2 hours
•  Moderately affected by food
•  Strong binding to plasma proteins (99%)
•  Rapid diffusion through the dermis and stratum corneum
•  Secreted in sebum, achieving high concentrations in hair follicles
•  Distributed into the nail plate in the first few weeks of therapy
•  Eliminated through urine

Indications:

•  Fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails
•  Dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton)
•  Candida skin infections
•  Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection)
•  Not effective for pityriasis versicolor
• Dosage and Administration:
•  Dosage varies by age group and indication

Contraindications:

 Hypersensitivity to terbinafine
