EFFIDEX Cream: Comprehensive Information

 Composition:

 Each gram of EFFIDEX Cream contains Betamethasone (Dipropionate) BP 005% w/w

 Description:

EFFIDEX Cream is a topical corticosteroid medication containing Betamethasone Dipropionate It belongs to the group of medicines known as corticosteroids, which are effective for treating certain inflammatory skin conditions

 Indications:

EFFIDEX is used for the treatment of inflammatory manifestations associated with resistant or severe psoriasis and certain corticosteroid responsive dermatoses

 Contraindications:

EFFIDEX Cream should not be used:

•  When the main cause of the skin problem is an infection
•  For conditions like acne, nappy rash, itchiness in the anal or genital area
•  To treat skin conditions on the face, such as rosacea
•  For conditions around the mouth, known as perioral dermatitis
•  On children under one year of age
•  On the breast if you are breastfeeding

 Precautions:

• Keep EFFIDEX away from the eyes and avoid using it under occlusive dressings.
•  Large amounts or prolonged use of corticosteroids during pregnancy may have side effects
• EFFIDEX typically doesn’t treat widespread psoriasis.
•  Inform your doctor about any other medicines you are taking
•  Inform medical staff if you are using EFFIDEX when going to the hospital

 Side Effects:

Possible side effects of EFFIDEX include itching, irritation, stretch marks, thinning of the skin, and visible small veins Some steroids may enter the bloodstream, causing effects like roundness of the face, muscle wasting, and fluid retention

 Usage:

Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding when and how to use EFFIDEX Cream Typically, apply a small amount once in the morning and once at night The duration of treatment varies based on clinical response but should not exceed four weeks without reevaluation
