Composition:
Each gram of Conaz Cream contains Ketoconazole BP.
Pharmacological Properties:
Mode of Action: Ketoconazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. Its therapeutic effect in seborrheic dermatitis is potentially linked to M ovale reduction.
Pharmacodynamic:
Ketoconazole exhibits strong antifungal action against dermatophytes and yeasts. It rapidly relieves pruritus associated with these infections.
Indications:
Conaz 2% Cream treats dermatophyte infections (e.g., tinea corporis, tinea cruris) caused by Trichophyton, Microsporon, and Epidermophyton species. It’s also effective for cutaneous candidiasis, tinea versicolor, and seborrheic dermatitis caused by Malassezia spp. Recommended for adult use.
Dosage & Administration:
Treatment duration varies based on infection severity. Mild infections usually require one week of treatment, while severe ones may need longer. Tinea versicolor may necessitate two weeks of treatment. For seborrheic dermatitis, apply the cream twice daily for up to four weeks or until clinical clearing.
Adverse Effects:
Common side effects include pruritus, skin burning, and erythema at the application site. If no improvement is observed after four weeks, reassess the diagnosis and maintain hygiene to control infection sources.
Contraindications:
Conaz 2% Cream is contraindicated in individuals hypersensitive to its ingredients or ketoconazole.
Warnings and Precautions:
Discontinue if sensitivity or chemical irritation occurs. Avoid ophthalmic use. Gradually withdraw steroid therapy over 2-3 weeks after prolonged corticosteroid treatment to prevent a rebound effect.
Drug Interactions:
No interaction studies have been conducted.
Missed Dose:
Apply missed doses promptly; however, if nearing the next dose, skip the missed one and resume the regular schedule.
Over-dosage:
Excessive application may cause erythema, edema, or a burning sensation. Discontinue treatment to alleviate symptoms.

Store below 30°C, shield from light/heat, and keep away from children.
