BETAGENIC Cream
BETAGENIC Cream combines Betamethasone Dipropionate BP (0.05% w/w) and Gentamicin Sulphate BP (0.1% w/w) in each gram.
Ingredients:
Formulated with chlorocresol, monobasic sodium phosphate, phosphoric acid, white petrolatum, mineral oil, monocetyl ether of polyethylene glycol, cetostearyl alcohol, and purified water, BETAGENIC Cream delivers sustained anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive actions. It features twice-daily application, while Gentamicin acts as a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic, targeting common skin pathogens.
Indications:
Indications encompass various dermatoses with inflammation and secondary infections or suspected infections: psoriasis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, lichen planus, eczema, intertrigo, dyshidrosis, seborrheic dermatitis, exfoliative dermatitis, solar dermatitis, stasis dermatitis, anogenital, and senile pruritus.
Application involves a thin film coverage twice daily; some patients may require less frequent use for maintenance. Potential adverse reactions include burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, and allergic contact dermatitis. Overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, like fungi, can occur occasionally with topical antibiotic use.
Contraindications:
Contraindications apply to individuals with a history of sensitivity to any of its components. Precautions advise discontinuing if irritation arises, especially in infants and children due to their increased susceptibility to side effects. Caution is recommended during pregnancy, and excessive or prolonged use may lead to adverse effects.
Overdosage:
Overdose symptoms may manifest as secondary adrenal insufficiency or hypercorticism, usually reversible with appropriate treatment. Storage guidelines recommend below 30°C, avoiding freezing, and protecting from light and heat. Store away from children and follow physician-directed usage.
